Dr. Rebecca Woo is a native of Augusta, Georgia. She obtained her bachelor's from Georgia Tech and a master's of science in Cellular Biology from the University ofGeorgia. She received her medical degree from theMedical College of Georgia (when it was still MCG) and obstetrics and gynecology residency training from BaylorCollege of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Woo practiced obstetrics for several years, then returned to MedicalCollege of Georgia (now Augusta University) for psychiatry residency. Dr. Woo joined the psychiatry department and faculty of the school of medicine atEmory University in July 2020. In addition to her clinical and teaching duties, Dr. Woo works with Georgia's perinatal psychiatry access service, PEACE for Moms.She provides clinical consultation for health care providers caring for pregnant or postpartum patients and education to increase awareness of maternal mental health conditions. Dr. Woo completed the University ofMichigan Sexual Health Certificate program for sex therapy and for sexual health education. She received certification as a sex educator from the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists in 2024.Outside of work, Dr. Woo enjoys spending time with her husband, raising young band kids and theater nerds, exploring the restaurant scene in Atlanta, and spoiling her Boston terrier.
