Marlo Vernon, PhD, MPH is an Associate Professor with tenure in the School of Public Health and Department ofObstetrics and Gynecology at Augusta University. Her research focuses on improving maternal and child health outcomes through innovative, community-based approaches, including remote perinatal monitoring, women’s cardiovascular health, breastfeeding promotion, and improving access to care for underserved populations. Dr. Vernon leads several maternal health initiatives across Georgia, serves on the GeorgiaCommission on Maternal and Infant Health, and is the founder of the CSRA Perinatal Task Force. A mother of seven, she is passionate about advancing the health and well-being of women, infants, and families.
