Anne Dunlop
Anne L. Dunlop, MD, MPH (Professor, Emory University) is a public-health oriented physician board certified in family medicine and preventive medicine (with a focus on maternal-child health) who strives to improve the health and well-being of Georgia’s women, children, and families through research, clinical practice, and population-health approaches. Her areas of clinical and research expertise are reproductive and maternal health promotion and healthcare and life course antecedents of adverse maternal and infant health outcomes (including social and environmental exposures).
Dr. Dunlop has substantial experience in implementing interventions in clinical and public health settings aimed at reducing severe maternal morbidity and preterm birth. To optimize equitable access to care, her implementation research has tested the integration of risk assessments and interventions into routine care settings (including NICUs, WIC programs, public health and safety-net clinics that provide family planning, well woman, and chronic condition care). Over the years, she has also partnered with Emory Rollins School of Public health faculty and Medicaid agencies to evaluate how Medicaid innovations (waiver, expansions, and extensions) and scope of practice expansions (for nurse midwives and practitioners) affect access to care, utilization of care, and maternal and infant health outcomes.
