Jennifer Rutledge Pettie

Jennifer Rutledge Pettie, JD, MPH, is a public health executive and legal epidemiologist dedicated to advancing maternal health outcomes through policy, research translation, and cross-sector collaboration. She is the Founding Principal and Chief Public Health Officer of The Health Equilibrium Group, where she partners with organizations to design and implement strategies that promote systems transformation and improved maternal and child health outcomes.

Jennifer has held senior policy and partnership leadership roles with theUniversity System of Georgia and the Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention and currently serves in national leadership and advisory roles focused on maternal health.Her work is informed by both professional expertise and lived experience as a maternal near-miss survivor, strengthening her commitment to building person-centered systems of care. She is the author of the children’s book A Queen’s Birth Story and a contributing author to the peer-reviewed volume Navigating BlackMaternal Mental Health and Well-Being, where she authored the chapter, “Echoes of Black Birth: Trauma,Family Dynamics, and the Path to Policy Solutions.”
